Ethan Hayter Set to Embrace New Challenges with Soudal-Quick Step

Ethan Hayter looks forward to a fresh start and renewed passion for racing as he joins Soudal-Quick Step.

Ethan Hayter, the British cycling sensation and former British road race champion, has announced his excitement as he embarks on a new journey with Soudal-Quick Step. After a five-year stint with Ineos Grenadiers, where he felt his enthusiasm for racing waned, Hayter is ready to rejuvenate his competitive spirit in a team renowned for its strong culture and historic success.

Hayter expressed, "I want to enjoy every race I'm doing again, and I firmly believe I can do it in this environment." At just 26 years old, he already boasts an impressive resume, including victories in the Tour of Poland and the Tour of Norway. His transition comes at a pivotal time as he joins a team celebrated for its achievements, including riders like Mark Cavendish and Remco Evenepoel, double Olympic champion.

“I like sprinting after a hard race, and the team signed me to finish off races, so it’s exciting to see the confidence they have in me,” he added, illuminating his readiness to contribute significantly to the squad's success.

The landscape of professional cycling is shifting, especially with the recent influx of talent moving from Ineos to teams like Q36.5, where Tom Pidcock now thrives. Hayter is among several notable exits from Ineos, where recent changes in management and team dynamics have sparked new aspirations among riders.

Looking ahead, Hayter is set to kick off his 2025 road season at the Muscat Classic in Oman, where he hopes to showcase his skills and bring home victories. As he enters this new chapter, Hayter's determination to enjoy racing while achieving excellence shines through, marking him as a key figure to watch in the upcoming cycling season.
