Osasuna's Appeal Against Barcelona Player's Eligibility Rejected
Osasuna's appeal over Barcelona's Inigo Martinez's eligibility was dismissed.
Osasuna's appeal regarding the eligibility of Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez to play against them has been turned down. Martinez didn't join the Spain squad due to a knee injury. FIFA rules prevent a player from playing for his club within five days after not linking up with his country when called up, but the RFEF's competition committee found no infringement by Barcelona. Osasuna plans a second appeal. Barcelona leads La Liga while Osasuna is 13th.
