Leeds United Secures James Justin in a Strategic £10m Transfer Deal

Leeds United has bolstered their defense by signing James Justin from Leicester City in a £10m deal, marking their 10th summer acquisition.

Leeds United has officially announced the signing of James Justin from Leicester City in a transfer deal worth £10 million. The 27-year-old defender has agreed to a four-year contract at Elland Road, becoming the club's 10th signing of the summer transfer window. The deal includes an initial payment of £8 million, with an additional £2 million in potential add-ons.

Justin, who began his career at Luton Town, joined Leicester in 2019 and has since made 169 appearances, scoring 11 goals. Known for his versatility, he can play both right-back and left-back positions. His tenure at Leicester was marked by significant achievements, including winning the FA Cup in 2021 and the Championship title in 2024. Justin also earned his first and only England cap in 2022 during a UEFA Nations League match against Hungary.

Leeds United is actively strengthening their squad ahead of the new Premier League season. Last week, they secured the services of forward Noah Okafor from AC Milan for £18 million. Other notable signings include England striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, midfielders Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff, Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri, Sweden left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson, and center-back Jaka Bijol from Udinese. Additionally, center-back Sebastiaan Bornauw and forward Lukas Nmecha were brought in after their stints at Wolfsburg.

Since Leicester's relegation from the Premier League last season, several players have departed, including Conor Coady, Wilfred Ndidi, Mads Hermansen, and Kasey McAteer. The sales, including Justin's, have generated close to £50 million for the club.

Leeds United fans are eagerly anticipating Justin's debut, although he is not expected to be available for the upcoming Carabao Cup second-round tie against Sheffield Wednesday. His first appearance could potentially be in the Premier League match against Newcastle on Saturday.

This strategic acquisition underscores Leeds United's commitment to building a competitive squad for the upcoming season, aiming to improve their standing in the Premier League.
