Francesco Bagnaia Secures Dramatic MotoGP Victory in Austin as Marc Marquez Crashes Out

Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia capitalizes on Marc Marquez's crash to claim victory at the 2025 Grand Prix of the Americas, shaking up the championship standings.

In a dramatic turn of events at the Circuit of The Americas, Ducati Lenovo Team's Francesco Bagnaia seized his first victory of the 2025 MotoGP season after rival Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) crashed out on lap 9 of 19.

The Race That Changed Everything

Bagnaia, starting from second on the grid, kept pressure on pole-sitter Marquez throughout the early stages. The decisive moment came when Marquez lost control at Turn 11, sliding into the gravel and dropping to last position. Bagnaia inherited the lead and never looked back.

"This victory means everything," said an emotional Bagnaia in parc fermé. "We've worked so hard since preseason testing, and to finally stand on top again in Austin is incredible. The bike was perfect today."

Championship Standings Shake-Up

  1. Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing) - 87 pts
  2. Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) - 86 pts
  3. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) - 75 pts

The results create a fascinating three-way championship battle, with Bagnaia now just 12 points behind leader Alex Marquez.
