Ally Wollaston Secures Dramatic Victory at Tour of Britain Women 2025

Ally Wollaston clinches a thrilling victory at the Tour of Britain Women 2025, overcoming a three-second deficit to deny British teenager Cat Ferguson the title.

Dramatic Finish in Glasgow

Ally Wollaston of FDJ-Suez staged a remarkable comeback to win the Tour of Britain Women 2025, overturning a three-second deficit to deny British teenager Cat Ferguson the overall victory. The New Zealander's strategic prowess in the final stage in Glasgow was pivotal to her success.

Strategic Mastery

Wollaston won all three intermediate sprints on the final stage, drawing level with Ferguson. She then secured an additional four bonus seconds by finishing third in the stage, behind Lorena Wiebes and Charlotte Kool. This performance allowed her to edge out Ferguson by four seconds in the overall classification.

Emotional Victory

"I'm a little bit overwhelmed - sorry. I'm so happy, first of all. A massive 'thank you' to my team-mates, I couldn't have done it without them. This means the world to me - it's my first World Tour victory in GC [general classification]," said Wollaston.

Ferguson's Valiant Effort

Ferguson, representing Movistar, looked set to claim the first of three time bonuses for the intermediate sprints at the end of the fourth lap of the 8.4km city-centre circuit. However, Wollaston managed to squeeze past her in the final meters, a move that proved decisive.

Team Success

Wollaston's FDJ-Suez team also triumphed in the team classification, adding to the day's achievements. Ferguson, who finished the fourth stage in seventh place, claimed the red points jersey, highlighting her consistent performance throughout the tour.
