William Creighton Dominates East Riding Stages to Kick Off BRC Title Campaign

William Creighton secures a commanding victory at the East Riding Stages, marking a stellar start to his British Rally Championship title bid.

Northern Ireland's William Creighton showcased his rallying prowess with a dominant performance at the East Riding Stages, clinching his first overall win in the British Rally Championship (BRC). This victory sets a strong foundation for his title campaign, following his runner-up finish in the 2024 season.

Creighton, alongside co-driver Liam Regan, made a strategic switch to the Toyota GR Yaris for this season, a move that paid dividends as they won seven out of the ten tarmac stages. Their exemplary teamwork and driving skills were evident as they finished 23.8 seconds ahead of Irish crew Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin. James Williams and Ross Whittock rounded out the podium in third place.

Expressing his delight, Creighton remarked, 'It's our first rally in the car and we hadn't done so much [in the Yaris] before the event and with such tricky conditions today, it's just felt good. I'm really excited for what's to come. A huge thanks to Liam for doing a great job on the notes and keeping me on the straight and narrow. I'm just really, really happy.'

In the Junior BRC category, Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy crews dominated the podium. Kyle McBride and co-driver Darragh Mullen emerged victorious, finishing 10.6 seconds ahead of Craig Rahill and Conor Smith. Keelan Grogan and Aytron Sherlock completed the podium, showcasing the depth of talent in the junior ranks.

The attention now shifts to the next round of the championship, the Carlisle Stages, scheduled for April 12, where Creighton and his competitors will continue to battle for supremacy on the rally stage.
