Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has extended a unique invitation to US President Donald Trump. Usyk has offered Trump the opportunity to live in his house for a week to experience the daily realities of the war in Ukraine firsthand. This bold move comes after Trump's promise to end the conflict within 24 hours if re-elected, a promise he has yet to fulfill.

A Call for Understanding

Usyk, who dedicated his 2022 victory against Anthony Joshua to the people of Ukraine, believes that living in his house will give Trump a clearer picture of the ongoing crisis. "I advise American President Donald Trump to come to Ukraine and live in my house for one week," Usyk told BBC Sport. "Only one week. I will give him my house. Live please in Ukraine and watch what is going on every night."

The Harsh Reality

Every night, the sound of bombs and rockets fills the air around Usyk's home. "Every night there are bombs and flights above my house. Bombs, rocket. Every night. It's enough," Usyk explained. He hopes that this experience will change Trump's perspective on the war, which has claimed the lives of many civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.

Since his rematch with Joshua three years ago, Usyk has been a vocal advocate for peace in Ukraine. Usyk, the WBA (super), WBO, and WBC champion, is set to face Britain's Daniel Dubois on 19 July at Wembley Stadium. This rematch of their August 2023 bout, which Usyk won with a ninth-round stoppage, could see Usyk become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion or Dubois become the first Englishman to win all four major world titles at heavyweight.
