Megan Jones Joins Trailfinders Women: A New Chapter for England's Rugby Vice-Captain

England vice-captain Megan Jones signs with Trailfinders Women for the 2025-26 season, bringing her extensive experience and leadership to the team.

Megan Jones, the esteemed England vice-captain, has officially joined Trailfinders Women for the upcoming 2025-26 Premiership Women's Rugby season. This move marks a significant shift in her career, as she transitions from Leicester Tigers to the Ealing-based club.

A Versatile Player

Jones, known for her versatility on the field, has played both as a centre and fly-half. Her career spans several prestigious clubs, including Bristol Bears and Wasps. Over the past two seasons with Leicester Tigers, she has showcased her exceptional skills and leadership qualities.

International Achievements

With 24 caps for the Red Roses, Jones has been a pivotal player in England's rugby squad. Her performance in the Six Nations has been particularly noteworthy, with three tries in three games as England edges closer to another Grand Slam.

A New Challenge

Expressing her enthusiasm for the new chapter, Jones said, "The club has that community feel which I love, and there's a passion and ambition to push on that really excites me. I really like the way the team play, and I can't wait to join up with the group and get going."

Rugby Sevens and Olympics

Jones has also made her mark in rugby sevens, representing Great Britain. She won bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and competed in both the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. Her international debut for England came in 2015 when she was just 18 years old.

Leadership and Experience

Trailfinders head coach Barney Maddison praised Jones, stating, "Megan is a world-class player with a remarkable rugby pedigree. Her experience both at the domestic and international levels will bring invaluable leadership to our squad."

Trailfinders' Ambitions

Trailfinders Women finished seventh in the PWR table last season. With Jones on board, the club aims to climb higher and make a significant impact in the upcoming season.
