Half-centuries from Sol Budinger, Ian Holland, Peter Handscomb and Logan Van Beek powered Leicestershire. Their batting was aggressive and partnerships were formed throughout the innings. Zak Chappell and others bowled well for Derbyshire, but Leicestershire dominated.

Budinger set the tone early but was eventually dismissed. Derbyshire's bowlers had some success but couldn't prevent Leicestershire from amassing a commanding total.
