128GB of RAM and Nvidia RTX Spark arrive in a $3,299 MSI convertible

The 16-inch Prestige N16 Flip AI+ arrives as Microsoft's RTX Spark laptop gains a rival — and memory, not silicon, becomes the battleground.

RAM has become the spec that separates serious AI laptops from the rest, and MSI is leaning into that hard. The company's new Prestige N16 Flip AI+ is a 16-inch convertible built around Nvidia's RTX Spark platform, with configurations reaching up to 128 GB of memory and a starting price of $3,299.

MSI is not moving alone at this table. Microsoft is preparing its own laptop carrying Nvidia's RTX Spark, and the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ shows the platform is quickly attracting more than one flagship machine.

The 128 GB figure is the one that will draw scrutiny from buyers running large models locally. Memory capacity is typically the binding constraint for on-device inference, and most consumer and prosumer laptops top out well below this mark. A machine able to hold larger model weights in memory changes what can plausibly be run without a round trip to the data center. That matters for developers prototyping before deployment, and for enterprises weighing whether local inference can replace part of their cloud spend.

Form factor is the second headline. The Flip designation marks this as a convertible, a chassis style rarely associated with memory counts this high, and the Prestige branding places it in MSI's professional line rather than its gaming stable.

Pricing sets up a direct comparison. At $3,299 to start, the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ will be measured against Microsoft's RTX Spark machine on memory, silicon and cost — and buyers eyeing 128 GB-class configurations will want to know the delta before committing to either.

For now, the takeaway is a market signal: RTX Spark is graduating from a single-vendor showcase into a category, and memory capacity is the axis on which vendors are choosing to compete.
