The event marked a special moment as Luca presented Edwards with a new orange wristband, symbolizing their shared connection through the number five, which holds significant meaning for both.

Luca, diagnosed with cancer at five years old, revealed that No. 5 is his favorite number. Edwards, who wears No. 5, responded emotionally, stating, "Five is special to me, too. That's my favorite number."

This reunion followed a memorable encounter in January when Edwards scored a career-high 53 points against the Detroit Pistons. Post-game, he met Luca, who was courtside wearing Edwards' jersey and holding a sign that read, "To Do: 1. Beat Cancer 2. Be The Next MJ." Edwards was deeply moved, signing the sign and Luca's jersey, and took a photo with the group, proudly displaying the sign.

Luca also gifted Edwards a wristband inscribed with "love like Luca." Touched by the gesture, Edwards promised, "OK, you know what Luca? I'll wear this for the rest of my career on my left arm band just for you." True to his word, Edwards wore the wristband in the Timberwolves' next game, contributing significantly to a 108-106 victory over the LA Clippers with 37 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds.
